The attorneys in the Firm’s Trust and Estate Planning Group have a broad knowledge of the legal, tax and practical issues that confront individuals, families and business owners seeking to protect, preserve and distribute accumulated assets. We advise clients in providing for the welfare of their families and dependents, as well as in preparing for their own long term care needs. We are skilled in drafting wills, trusts, health care proxies, living wills, powers of attorney and all other documents necessary to carry out our clients’ estate planning goals in New York State. We have a practical understanding of the complexities associated with planning for disability and death. More importantly, we are particularly sensitive to the needs of our clients and make their concerns our priority.
The Firm’s Trust and Estate attorneys are familiar with every aspect of the probate and administration process as well as the administration of trusts. The Firm counsels clients through the difficult times following the death of a family member. Our attorneys are experienced in all aspects of Surrogate’s Court practice as well as in all phases of an estate proceeding and the administration of a trust. Our clients are carefully guided through the process of court proceedings, tax filing requirements and implications, asset location, collection and distribution and debt obligations of a decedent and his or her estate or trust.
